Red Glacier Expedition by Monster Truck from Gullfoss
This is the Monster Truck part of our Golden Circle & Red Glacier tour on its own — no Golden Circle stops and no hotel pickup. Meet us at Gullfoss, climb aboard Sleipnir, an 8x8 Monster Truck, and ride onto Langjökull, Iceland's second-largest glacier, with a refreshment stop, sledding and glacier golf.

Take Þingvellir, Geysir and Gullfoss at your own pace in your own car, or just drive straight to Gullfoss. Plan to be there in good time before the meeting at 12:30.
Meet us at Gullfoss
Meet our team at Gullfoss. A Highland bus takes you from Gullfoss to the Sleipnir base, where the truck is waiting.
Sleipnir onto Langjökull
Ride across Langjökull in an 8x8 Monster Truck, comfortable and spacious, with panoramic views. Local guides share facts about glaciers, stories of the Icelandic Highlands and Nordic mythology, and crampons are provided.
Refreshments, sledding and glacier golf
At a scenic spot on the glacier a pop-up café serves hot chocolate, tea and Jökla, plus kleinur, an Icelandic pastry. You can taste glacier water and join optional sledding and glacier golf, depending on weather and glacier conditions.
Back to Gullfoss
The whole tour takes 3 to 4 hours including the transfers, depending on road and weather conditions. You finish back at Gullfoss and are free to drive on.
Summer: the Red Glacier Expedition
This is our summer version. From 1 November to 15 April the glacier trip is the Ice Cave Expedition, with a walk through the "Neptune" ice cave.

The Trucks
Sleipnir is named after the eight-legged horse of Odin in Norse mythology, which could travel over land, sea and sky. Our trucks have eight wheels, large low-pressure tires and independent wheel suspension for a smooth ride, with airplane-style leather seats with three-point belts, skyline windows, Wi-Fi and a restroom on board.
Good to Know
- Meeting point: Gullfoss, 12:30 daily. You arrive by your own car.
- Minimum age is 4 years, with a maximum of 2 children per adult. Booster seats are available.
- Sledding and glacier golf are optional and held during stops, depending on weather and glacier conditions.
- In spring, glacier access may be limited by snow.
- Crampons are provided.
- Tour length can vary with weather and road conditions, and the tour may be cancelled at short notice. If that happens you are offered another tour, another date or a full refund.
- Rain or shine, the glacier and the Highlands are striking — stay warm and dry in the truck, or step outside and explore.
- Mind the steps when boarding — the truck's entrance is high off the ground, with several steps up.
- Carbon-neutral offset can be added at checkout.
- You get a full refund if you cancel at least 1 day before the tour; cancellations within 24 hours of departure are not refundable — we recommend travel insurance that covers tour cancellations.
