This is the Monster Truck part of our Golden Circle & Ice Cave tour on its own — no Golden Circle stops and no hotel pickup. Meet us at Gullfoss, climb aboard Sleipnir, an 8x8 Monster Truck, and ride onto Langjökull, Iceland's second-largest glacier, for a walk through the "Neptune" ice cave.

Sleipnir onto Langjökull
Ride onto Iceland's second-largest glacier in an 8x8 Monster Truck with panoramic windows and large tires for a smooth ride. The tour is fully guided, with glacier facts and stories of the Highlands, and crampons are provided. You walk through the "Neptune" ice cave, known for its deep blue ice, often lined with black volcanic ash.
Back to Gullfoss
The whole tour takes 3 to 4 hours including the transfer, depending on road and weather conditions. You finish back at Gullfoss and are free to drive on.
Winter: the Ice Cave Expedition
This is our winter version. From 16 April to 31 October the glacier trip is the Red Glacier Expedition, with a pop-up café on the ice, sledding and glacier golf.

The Trucks
Sleipnir is named after the eight-legged horse of Odin in Norse mythology, which could travel over land, sea and sky. Our trucks have eight wheels, large low-pressure tires and independent wheel suspension for a smooth ride, with airplane-style leather seats with three-point belts, skyline windows, Wi-Fi and a restroom on board.
Good to Know
- Meeting point: Gullfoss, 12:30 daily. You arrive by your own car. In winter the truck departs from the Gullfoss Café parking lot.
- Minimum age is 4 years. Booster seats are available on request — add them to your reservation.
- The tour involves walking through snow, over uneven ground and up steps inside the ice cave.
- Crampons are provided.
- Tour length can vary with weather and road conditions, and the tour may be cancelled at short notice. If that happens you are offered another tour, another date or a full refund.
- Stops may be shortened, or held after dark in high winter.
- Mind the steps when boarding — the truck's entrance is high off the ground, with several steps up.
- Carbon-neutral options are available at checkout.
- You get a full refund if you cancel at least 1 day before the tour; cancellations within 24 hours of departure are not refundable — we recommend travel insurance that covers tour cancellations.
